This painting was started when our ground forces began to move on Iraq back in 1991, and was completed the day before we ceased our march and claimed victory. It was a quest for truth at a very strange time. The words for the open book were written for the painting by my wife as follows:
"What we read as words our minds make into pictures that drift like dreams out into the Universe, and all of this we cannot see right away, but will feel deep within our hearts, will understand deep in our minds stored as wisdom and truth until we need them. For our eyes only see what we allow them to! But words of wisdom read lets our consciousness expand deeper and higher, until the spirit of All Truth allows us to see forever in the infinite wisdom of God."
